Epicor Prism brings industry-specific AI to manufacturers and distributors across Latin America

Epicor has expanded its AI-driven ERP strategy across Latin America with the general availability of Epicor Prism, a portfolio of industry-specific AI agents designed for manufacturers, distributors and other supply chain businesses.

Embedded directly within Epicor Kinetic and Prophet 21, Prism provides conversational access to live ERP data and related documents without requiring specialist analytics skills or separate AI tools. The technology can also help customers develop customisations and carry out pre-approved actions, while retaining human oversight.
Manufacturers and distributors across Latin America face increasing pressure to raise productivity while managing volatile supply chains, skills challenges and a rapidly changing technology environment.
“ AI adoption is accelerating across the region, but the opportunity is not simply to add more technology – it is to turn the operational data businesses already have into faster, better decisions,” said Arturo Buzzalino, Chief Product Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, Epicor.
“ By bringing industry-specific AI directly into ERP workflows, Epicor Prism can
PDFs and other files to generate contextual insights. Users can ask why a production line is behind schedule or what is causing a rise in overdue orders, receiving explanations grounded in operational data rather than static reports.
For businesses that regularly customise ERP screens, Epicor Prism Developer for Application Studio can reduce the time required to build and test customisations by approximately 60 %, according to Epicor. This is intended to help technical teams deliver changes more quickly without compromising quality.
Unlike generic AI assistants, Prism draws on Epicor’ s vertical-specific data ontology, developed from more than five decades of experience across manufacturing, distribution, building supply, retail and automotive sectors.
Epicor Prism currently includes more than 18 pre-built AI agents addressing decision-critical workflows.
Epicor said the growing portfolio of AI agents enables users to access knowledge, analyse information, automate routine tasks and act within ERP workflows. Using natural-language queries, organisations can improve productivity, reduce manual effort and gain greater visibility across operations.
The launch supports Epicor’ s broader Cognitive ERP strategy, which aims to move enterprise software beyond systems of record towards systems that help users interpret information, make decisions and act in real time. help teams identify issues earlier, reduce manual work and act on information with greater confidence.”
Prism is designed to operate securely using customers’ own ERP data while respecting existing governance policies and role-based security. Actions remain subject to human oversight, enabling organisations to use AI while maintaining accountability and control.
The Epicor Prism Reasoning Agent, for example, analyses live ERP information alongside documents, spreadsheets,
These can interpret Material Requirements Planning output, identify supply, demand and fulfilment risks, analyse shipment volumes and carrier performance, extract and validate documents for accounts payable and compliance processes and support less experienced employees through embedded ERP knowledge.
Epicor said the approach combines trusted business data, industry expertise and AI capabilities within existing operational workflows, helping Latin American organisations adopt AI without adding unnecessary complexity.
The company said the regional rollout gives customers tools to turn operational information into measurable improvements across everyday manufacturing and distribution activities. •
