KIO Data Centers secures 10-year energy agreement in Panama to support AI and cloud growth

KIO Data Centers has strengthened its position in Central America after signing a 10-year energy supply agreement with Celsia in Panama, providing long-term power certainty for its regional operations.

The agreement is designed to support the continued growth of KIO’ s data centre infrastructure while ensuring operational continuity and scalability across its Panama facilities. The deal comes as demand for power-intensive technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing, continues to accelerate throughout the region.
By securing a decade-long energy commitment, KIO aims to mitigate risks associated with market volatility while providing customers with greater confidence in future capacity availability. The company said the agreement reinforces its ability to support organisations requiring reliable, high-density digital infrastructure.

“ At KIO Data Centers, our vision goes beyond building physical space. We are securing the critical resources that enable our customers to innovate without interruption,” he said.
Ortiz added that the partnership with Celsia demonstrated KIO’ s ability to secure dependable energy resources to support expanding operations across Latin America.
The agreement delivers three strategic benefits: long-term energy certainty through a 10-year planning horizon, infrastructure readiness for hyperscale and high-density technology workloads, and enhanced sustainability and operational resilience.
KIO said the partnership strengthens its‘ Energy Secured’ strategy and further positions the company as a trusted provider for organisations pursuing Digital Transformation initiatives.
