Ascend taps Snetor Group for Latin America

Snetor now carries Ascend ’ s Vydyne , Starflam , HiDura and ReDefyne PA66 , PA610 and PA612 resins and engineered materials in Europe and Latin America .

Ascend Performance Materials – specialists in high-performance materials for new technologies – is to expand its relationship with international plastics and chemicals distributor Snetor .

Snetor will distribute its polyamide-based engineered materials in Latin America , as well as Ascend ’ s HiDura MED portfolio for medical applications in Europe .
Snetor has been active in the distribution of plastic raw materials ( from polymers commodities to engineering plastics ) and chemicals in Latin America , Europe , Africa and the Middle East .
The group operates in over 100 countries with a varied customer base of converters .
“ We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Ascend ,” said Emmanuel Aubourg , Snetor Group CEO .
This marks Ascend ’ s first distribution agreement in Latin America since acquiring its compounding site in San José Iturbide , Mexico , in 2022 .
“ The combination of our respective expertise and our two well-known brands in our markets will enable us to offer a complete and premium range of polyamides in several key markets .”

Report ranks LATAM university computer science programs

Brazilian universities dominate the highest-ranking institutions for computer science programs in Latin America , according to a recent US News and World report ranking .

Three Mexican universities make the list : Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico ( UNAM ), Instituto Politécnico Nacional ( PN ) and Tecnológico de Monterrey ( ITESM ).
The report ranks six Brazilian institutions in the regional top 20 for computer science degrees .
The table shows the University of Buenos Aires ranked 14th globally and emerging as a top choice for aspiring software professionals .
Those six are : University of São Paulo , State University of Campinas , Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul , Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais .
Chile ’ s Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad de Chile are also ranked highly .

US News and World attributes Brazil ’ s specific success to a strong research profile , the evidence for which is referenced in high research outputs , patent production and R & D spending .
