Liberty Networks and TELESUR have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen Suriname’ s international connectivity, targeting greater network resilience, capacity and digital infrastructure as the country prepares for growth in offshore oil and gas.
The agreement expands a partnership spanning more than 15 years, which began with the establishment of the Suriname – Guyana Submarine Cable System in 2009. The infrastructure has supported Suriname’ s international telecommunications links and the reliability of national digital services.
Signed during the CANTO 41st Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition in Punta Cana, the MOU establishes a framework for increased international capacity, diversified routes and stronger regional interconnection through Liberty Networks’ subsea infrastructure.
The companies will combine TELESUR’ s national footprint with Liberty Networks’ regional fibre network to strengthen crossborder digital corridors and improve resilience during cable faults or service disruptions.
The partnership is expected to support offshore energy operations, financial services, public-sector digitisation, cloud adoption and international enterprise services. It also aims to improve access to online communications, education, banking, healthcare, government services and entertainment.
Ray Collins, CEO, Liberty Networks, said connectivity would be a key enabler as Suriname entered a period of economic development.
Doric Ramlakhan, CEO, TELESUR, said the agreement formalised the companies’ ambition to evolve their partnership alongside Suriname’ s expanding digital and economic requirements, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
The companies will now work to deliver greater stability, scalability and long-term availability of international capacity, supporting Suriname’ s Digital Transformation and future economic growth across its increasingly connected digital economy nationwide.

Auxis is expanding its Colombian operations with a new knowledge process outsourcing centre in Bogotá, creating more than 500 additional jobs as demand for nearshore services and AI-enabled business transformation grows.
The business modernisation and outsourcing provider said the Bogotá operation currently employs more than 200 professionals and is expected to exceed 700 employees during the next year.
Teams at the centre will support US organisations across finance and accounting, human resources, customer support, IT, AI and other business functions. The expansion gives Auxis its second major capabilities centre in Colombia.
Auxis entered Colombia in 2021 and has since grown to 500 employees across Bogotá, Barranquilla and Medellín. The company said Bogotá’ s expanding pool of bilingual professionals made the capital an important location for its nearshore strategy.
The investment comes as more organisations consider Latin America for outsourcing operations. Grant Thornton’ s Q2 2026 CFO Survey found 44 % of organisations were already operating in or evaluating the region as part of their delivery strategies.
The Bogotá office is located at Connecta 26, Colombia’ s first sustainable corporate business park. It includes collaborative meeting areas and technology-enabled workspaces designed to support global teams.
Auxis said the expansion would strengthen its ability to provide scalable talent and services while supporting increasingly complex business operations and Digital Transformation programmes for international clients.
