Arqia to acquire Algar Telecom IoT business as Wireless Logic expands LATAM strategy

Arqia has agreed to acquire Algar

Telecom’ s Internet of Things( IoT) connectivity business, strengthening parent company Wireless Logic’ s expansion strategy in Latin America.
The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, will expand Arqia’ s position as Brazil’ s largest IoT-focused mobile virtual network operator and increase its capabilities in mission-critical IoT and machine-to-machine applications.
Wireless Logic acquired Arqia in 2025 as part of its push into Brazil, one of Latin America’ s fastest-growing connected technology markets. Algar said the divestment would allow it to increase investment in core IT and telecommunications services, including cloud, cybersecurity and professional services.
Algar Telecom launched its IoT operation in 2019, initially targeting machine-tomachine and point-of-sale applications. The business has since developed into a leading Brazilian IoT connectivity platform.
Tomas Fuchs, CEO, Arqia, said the agreement represented an important milestone for the company and would accelerate its expansion while broadening solutions available to customers.
Following completion, Arqia will combine its Brazilian market expertise with Wireless Logic’ s international scale. Wireless Logic connects millions of devices across more than 165 countries and serves thousands of businesses worldwide.
The enlarged operation will target connected applications across agribusiness, logistics, payments, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare and smart cities.
Oliver Tucker, co-founder and CEO, Wireless Logic, said the transaction represented another step in the company’ s Latin America strategy, combining Arqia’ s local capabilities with Wireless Logic’ s global reach to deliver greater customer value and accelerate regional IoT market development. The acquisition will support businesses seeking greater efficiency, innovation and competitiveness through connected digital infrastructure.

ACI Worldwide and dLocal expand local payment access across Latin America

ACI Worldwide and dLocal have formed a strategic partnership to give global merchants access to leading local payment methods across Brazil and Mexico through a single integration.

The agreement brings dLocal’ s regional payments network into the ACI Payments Orchestration Platform, enabling merchants and fintech partners to process transactions using methods including Pix, PicPay, Mercado Pago and NuPay in Brazil, alongside Mercado Pago, OXXO and SPEI in Mexico.
ACI and dLocal also plan to extend coverage to Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru, supporting merchants seeking to expand across Latin America’ s fragmented but fast-growing digital commerce market. between countries. Alternative payment methods, including digital wallets, realtime bank transfers and instant payment schemes, account for around half of online transactions across the region.
Brazil’ s Pix system alone has more than 170 million users, highlighting the importance of supporting alternatives to traditional card payments.
Vlademir Santos, Head of Sales Brazil, ACI Worldwide, said the partnership would help merchants manage payment complexity while maintaining performance, flexibility and control.
Horacio Raviolo, Head of Commercial Partnerships, dLocal, said combining local expertise with ACI’ s orchestration infrastructure would give merchants the reach needed to compete locally while retaining the ability to scale globally.
ACI’ s cloud-based platform provides intelligent transaction routing, fraud prevention and real-time payments intelligence, allowing merchants to connect with multiple payment methods, acquirers and markets while maintaining control over their payments strategy. The integration is available to merchants in both markets.
