Kaffa Tech launches AI-powered platform to analyse performance and simulate regulatory impacts in energy sector

Kaffa Tech, a Brazilian technology company focused on the utilities sector, has launched Insights by Kaffa, a platform that gathers and crosses public data from all energy distributors in the country in a single digital environment in a reliable way and uses Artificial Intelligence for initiatives such as comparing performance, identifying operational deviations and anticipating regulatory impacts in the electricity sector.

The tool, free in the public version, seeks to solve a recurring problem in the market: fragmented access to critical information for analysis and operational, financial and regulatory decisions. The platform is aimed at distributors, consultancies, investors, the press, associations, chain suppliers and other agents in the segment.
The Brazilian electricity sector is experiencing a moment of regulatory pressure, expansion of the use of public data, advance of digitalisation and growing need for quality metrics and consumer satisfaction, which requires a much greater analytical capacity from companies and other market agents.
Insights by Kaffa was created to address the bottleneck of data dispersion, reducing the time spent searching and organising information and increasing the possibilities of analysis, said Bruno Sousa, Product Director, Kaffa Tech.
One of the main differentials is the ability to connect operating ratios to economic impact. With the evolution of regulatory mechanisms such as the Xs Factor, which now links consumer satisfaction levels to tariff readjustment as of 2027, the platform estimates, in reais, how changes in these indicators can directly affect the revenue and financial performance of each distributor.
Another highlight is Kaio, an AI agent that supports the interpretation of complex data by answering users’ questions in natural language and which, in addition to being already available in the web version, will also be accessible soon via WhatsApp. It accesses the platform’ s data in real time, runs on-demand analysis and delivers answers as it reasons.
The agent operates with session memory, which means that each response is built on what has been said before, allowing the conversation to progressively delve deeper into a topic without losing context. Kaio knows the logic and nomenclature of the industry and uses that intelligence to interpret data, not just display it.
In practice, a conversation with Kaio can start with‘ how is the performance of distributor X in relation to the market?’ and then explore causes of interruptions, cross them with satisfaction rates, identify services with the highest delays and compare results with other operations simultaneously.
From there, users can generate an action plan with priorities, timelines and dashboard structure without switching tools or exporting spreadsheets. With access to BRR, tariff data and P & L, Kaio enables financial forecasts, estimates impacts of IASC variations, projects penalties and identifies assets delivering strongest returns.
Covering 105 distributors and more than 15,000 mapped electrical sets, Insights by Kaffa is built on public databases. Its foundation includes indicators such as DEC, FEC and DGC, while additional data supports interruption analysis by cause, duration and impact, improving operational insight across utilities today. •
