this transformation positions Uandes to meet growing demands with confidence.
“ With the support of Kyndryl, we are advancing the Digital Transformation of our educational and healthcare services,” said María del Carmen Clemente, Director of Information Services and Technology at Uandes.
“ The migration to OCI has given us greater independence, scalability and operational efficiency – delivering a robust solution on time and positioning us for future modernisation initiatives.”
With the support of Kyndryl, we are advancing the Digital Transformation of our educational and healthcare services.
According to Christian Delfino, Country Manager of Oracle Chile, OCI is designed specifically to meet the needs of organisations undergoing rapid Digital Transformation.
Key outcomes
• 108 workloads migrated in just four months
• Improved system performance and response times
• Enhanced experience for students, patients and staff
• Increased scalability and operational resilience
• Reduced operational costs
The modernisation initiative has already delivered tangible benefits across the institution. Students, faculty members and administrative teams are experiencing faster, more reliable services, while healthcare professionals and patients at the university’ s medical facilities – including Clínica Universidad de los Andes – benefit from improved system availability and efficiency.
At a time when both education and healthcare sectors are increasingly dependent on secure, scalable and high-performing digital infrastructures,
“ OCI is built to support organisations looking to scale their operations quickly and securely, while optimising performance and controlling costs,” Delfino said.
“ By leveraging OCI’ s high performance, flexibility and security, institutions like Universidad de los Andes can focus on innovation and delivering enhanced experiences to their students, patients and staff.”
Overcoming legacy limitations
Prior to the migration, Universidad de los Andes faced constraints with its existing cloud infrastructure, limiting its ability to scale and creating operational inefficiencies.
These challenges impacted both administrative processes and service delivery across academic and healthcare functions.
To address these issues, the university undertook an ambitious migration of 108 workloads to OCI, successfully completing the process in just four months. This was followed by a comprehensive modernisation of its broader IT environment. www. intelligentcio. com
