Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent helps UK doctors spend more time on patient care
Following a successful pilot program at several NHS trusts, Oracle Health has announced that its Clinical AI Agent, Clinical Note, is now available in the UK. The AI solution enables caregivers across the NHS and private practices to use an ambient voice and screen-driven assistant to draft patient notes, helping reduce administrative workload and allowing more time for patient care. Trusts involved in the pilot, including Barts Health NHS Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Milton Keynes University Hospital, are now rolling out the solution more widely across their organizations.
The UK Government’ s 10-Year Health Plan, titled Fit for the Future, aims to seize the opportunities provided by new technologies, AI, medicines and innovation to deliver better care for all patients. As a leading electronic health record provider, Oracle Health supports this vision, and the general availability of Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent, Clinical Note, is designed to help advance it. The technology arrives at a critical time as the NHS works to reduce waiting times and administrative burden, highlighting the need for solutions that integrate seamlessly into clinician workflows and return valuable time to doctors and nurses.
With Clinical Note, clinicians no longer need to navigate drop-down menus or manually type detailed notes during consultations. The system automatically drafts structured documentation from patient-clinician interactions, requiring only review and approval. This reduces administrative strain that contributes to clinician burnout and allows greater focus during appointments.
“ As a user of the Clinical AI Agent, it’ s been really fantastic. It’ s improved the accuracy of my notes and given me a lot of time back. Now, when I see a patient, I can spend all my time focusing on them. I can complete my letter and give it to the patient before they even leave the department a few minutes later,” said Robin Kearney, Consultant in Acute

“ Our ongoing trial of the Clinical AI Agent has demonstrated the power that ambient voice technology can bring to the NHS,” said Sanjay Gautama, Chief Clinical Information Officer and Caldicott Guardian for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and North West London Integrated Care Board.“ It is beneficial for both patient and clinician experiences.”
The general availability of Clinical Note in the UK builds on Oracle’ s commitment to invest US $ 5 billion over the next five years to meet growing demand for cloud services in the UK. The investment expands Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the country and supports the government’ s ambition to accelerate AI innovation and adoption, enabling healthcare organizations and others to leverage Oracle’ s AI and cloud capabilities. • 42
