INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGY: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Mexican firms drive demand for AI PCs as Intel research shows rising investment
Companies in Mexico are accelerating their adoption of AI PCs as new Intel research reveals rising investment and demand for advanced on-device intelligence.
The report also reveals that business and IT leaders estimate that 48 % of work tasks could be optimized by AI PCs. In Mexico, this estimate is 45.9 % showing an optimistic view about the potential for optimisation.
According to the Intel Global Research Report 2025, prepared by Sapio Research, companies in the region recognize PCs with artificial intelligence as an essential tool to improve productivity, optimize processes and strengthen security in their operations.
The study, which surveyed more than 5,000 business and technology leaders in 24 countries, includes decision-makers from Mexico, which allows identifying specific trends in the adoption of PCs with artificial intelligence within the continent. In this block, there is a clear orientation towards embedding AI capabilities directly into devices, driven by the potential to automate tasks, increase performance and tailor applications to the needs of each business.
Organizations in the Americas are willing to invest on average 26 % more per AI-enabled device, which equates to an additional US $ 182 over the average cost of a traditional PC.
Mexican companies anticipate a significant positive impact on their workforce, highlighting that they believe that employees could complete more projects or tasks, could spend more time on learning and development, could focus on new business opportunities and could invest more time in strategic decisions thanks to a greater and better use of AI.
One of the most prominent findings is that 52 % of organizations in the Americas prioritise the use of customised AI applications designed to respond to the needs of each business. The study also shows that the adoption of AI-powered tools is already a reality. In Mexico, 89 % of companies are in the process of upgrading to AI PCs in their next renewal cycle and 3 % already use this type of equipment exclusively.
When considering upgrading to AI-powered PCs, companies in the Americas point to OS compatibility as the most important factor followed by security and built-in AI capabilities. In Mexico, in addition to security challenges, other factors that may impede this IT transformation are issues of financing this technological transition. Still, the readiness of IT teams in Mexico is referenced as remarkable with 92 % of organizations indicating that their IT team is ready to integrate AI PCs.
In this context of growing demand and technological evolution, Intel is positioned at the forefront with innovations that directly respond to these needs. An example of this is the recent launch of Intel Core Ultra 3 series processors, designed to power the next generation of AI PCs.“ The growing interest of companies in the Americas for AI equipment reflects how technology is increasingly being integrated into business strategies – these insights underline the region’ s accelerating Digital Transformation,” said Rafael Escalante, Technical Sales Leader of Intel in Latin America. p
