They explored Moxie Health’ s mission and the capabilities of Moxie-Link, an operational excellence platform connecting care teams through real-time data and performance insights.
Guided by Moxie Health engineers and physicians, teams developed solutions during interactive workshops such as Building AI for Better Care and Perfecting Your Pitch. The hackathon concluded with live demos before a panel of judges who evaluated innovation, impact and execution.
The Moxie Health Group has hosted its inaugural Moxiethon Hackathon, a three-day innovation challenge uniting more than 50 computer science students from leading Honduran universities to develop healthcare technology solutions using the company’ s proprietary platform Moxie-Link.
Moxiethon was about empowering young technologists to bridge innovation with compassion – connecting data, caregivers and patients to make care more human and effective.
The event centred on the theme AI in Healthcare – challenging participants to identify real-world issues in patient care and propose solutions to improve outcomes and efficiency. Students formed interdisciplinary teams, attended workshops and collaborated with mentors across healthcare and technology sectors.
“ This hackathon was about more than coding,” said Dr. Gustavo Ferrer, Founder and CEO of the Moxie Health Group and Dr. Ferrer BioPharma.“ It was about
The winning team – Roberto Carlos Garay Logan and Luis Fernando Bautista Castellanos – created an automated system that analyses calls between on-call agents and facility nurses, – generating realtime summaries sent directly to the appropriate nurse practitioner’ s device. The system will be integrated into Moxie-Link to improve communication efficiency and patient care coordination.
“ Moxiethon reflects our commitment to innovation and community development,” said Dr. Alfonso Ortega, Chief Technology Officer, Moxie Health.
“ By engaging local talent, we’ re enhancing Moxie- Link’ s capabilities while giving young engineers the chance to shape the future of healthcare technology.”
