ODATA secures US $ 1.02 billion green financing to drive sustainable data center growth in Latin America
ODATA has closed a landmark US $ 1.02 billion green financing deal, the largest of its kind in Latin America, to accelerate sustainable data center construction across Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia.
ODATA, a leader in the construction and operation of data centers in Latin America, has announced US $ 1.02 billion in green financing focused on sustainable data center infrastructure. With this financing – the largest of its kind for data centers in Latin America – ODATA reaches a total of US $ 2.25 billion in funding, strengthening its foundation to meet rising demand for cloud and AI infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of sustainability.
“ This historic achievement, representing the largest issuance of sustainable data center financing in Latin America, has allowed ODATA to build a solid financial structure. With these high-quality resources, we are well positioned to empower our customers in their digital expansion across the region,” said Rafael Bomeny, CFO, ODATA.“ This financing also reinforces our mission to contribute to Latin America’ s sustainable development by leading the way in adopting innovative technologies that drive a more efficient future for our customers and communities.”
The funding was provided by a syndicate of financial partners including Apterra, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank, MUFG Bank Ltd., Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking, Nomura, Societe Generale and SMBC. Funds will be allocated to data center projects that meet strict sustainability standards, including energy efficiency targets, renewable energy adoption and sustainable construction practices.
This expansion strengthens ODATA’ s leadership in the Latin American data center market. It supports growth across Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, ensuring access to world-class IT infrastructure capable of meeting the sustainable demands of cloud computing and AI.
“ Sustainability is a top priority for ODATA. In addition to major investments in renewable energy, we adopt designs that achieve the highest levels of energy efficiency without wasting water. With this green financing, we can continue advancing Latin America’ s digital infrastructure while upholding strict sustainability standards,” Bomeny said.
ODATA is the first hyperscale data center operator in Latin America to self-produce 100 % renewable energy in Brazil. The company recently introduced the exclusive Delta Cube( Delta ³) air-cooling technology to the region, developed and patented by parent company Aligned Data Centers. Designed for highdensity power loads, this system cools up to 50kW per rack in the same row and is ready for integration with advanced liquid cooling systems.
These initiatives are pitched as highlighting ODATA’ s commitment to innovation and sustainability in Latin America’ s digital ecosystem. p
