CENIA and AIEP form strategic alliance to boost inclusive AI development in Chile

Chile’ s National Center for Artificial Intelligence( CENIA) is consolidating a strategic alliance for the integration and democratization of Artificial Intelligence in technical and vocational education and the Chilean productive ecosystem.

CENIA recognizes AIEP as a key strategic partner and the alliance will be structured around fundamental pillars such as training and continuing education, educational innovation, applied research and active engagement with the environment.
The collaboration is pitched as a fundamental step toward positioning Chile as a benchmark in the development and application of AI in Latin America.
“ At CENIA, we take our hats off to what AIEP is doing in the field of AI. We reached out to see how they’ re doing and everything is absolutely scalable. This requires leadership and a vision for the future,” said Rodrigo Durán, General Manager, CENIA.
The center focuses its efforts on five key areas of AI – Deep Learning for Vision and Language, Neuro-Symbolic AI, Brain-Inspired AI, Physics-Based Machine Learning and Human-Centered AI – promoting multidisciplinary and ethical research. Its expertise spans strategic AI training in businesses and the public sector, supported by studies indicating that nearly 50 % of work tasks in Chile can be accelerated with AI.
“ This collaboration agreement with CENIA reinforces AIEP’ s commitment to technical and professional higher education that responds to the technological advances that are transforming the world of work,” said José Antonio Álvarez de Toledo y Mella, AIEP’ s Academic Vice-Rector.
