TD SYNNEX to be exclusive distributor of IBM solutions in English and Dutch Caribbean
TD SYNNEX has secured an exclusive distribution agreement with IBM in 23 Caribbean countries .
The agreement expands on the historic partnership between TD SYNNEX and IBM , which specializes in connecting resellers in the Latin America and Caribbean ( LAC ) region with innovative solutions that accelerate business growth and maximize revenue opportunities .
Under this agreement , IBM ’ s resale business partners in the English and Dutch Caribbean will move from a Tier 1 direct sales model to a Tier 2 indirect model , through a distributor . They will now access IBM products and solutions through TD SYNNEX .
Partners will also take full advantage of IBM ’ s new Partner Plus program , which will give them greater access to IBM resources , training and benefits . Initially , the agreement will include IBM Infrastructure partners and will later expand to include Software partners .
“ By becoming the only IBM distributor in the English and Dutch Caribbean , we will be able to bring much more value to partners in the region , connecting them with IBM ’ s broad portfolio ,” said Helio Guimaraes , Vice President and General Manager , MCA , TD SYNNEX LAC .
Under the agreement , TD SYNNEX will make IBM ’ s array of resources throughout the Americas available to Caribbean partners , in particular , its brand new Center of Excellence in Brazil – and an IBM technical support team based in the region to help them during the transition .
Sungrow supplies one of the largest photovoltaic projects in the Americas
Sungrow , a global leader in renewable energy technology , has supplied cutting-edge 1 + X modular inverters to the Vista Alegre project – a 902 MWp solar plant in Brazil that is one of the largest photovoltaic projects in the Americas .
The project is located in Minas Gerais and will primarily use 902 MWp ( 778 MWac ) general-scale solar under the 21-year Power Purchase Agreement ( PPA ).
Ada Li , Vice President of Sungrow Americas said : “ This is one of the largest solar projects in the Americas , located in Brazil , a country with great potential for increased solar power generation , offering energy security and independence and reducing carbon emissions in this vital decade in the clean energy transition – we look forward to advancing this project .”
Designed to be connected to the electricity grid in 2025 , the project is pitched as generating 2 TWh of electricity per year on average .
The energy generated by Vista Alegre is equivalent to supplying clean and sustainable energy to about one million families in Brazil or avoiding about 154,000 tons of CO 2 per year .
For this landmark project , Sungrow will provide a complete solution that includes inverters , power transformers , medium-voltage switchboards and auxiliary systems – all within a 40-foot container .
The project will have 75 units of 8.8 MW and 18 units of 6.6 MW inverters , in addition to all cold and hot commissioning services , and operation and maintenance training .
