Minsait specializes in cybersecurity for future ethical hackers

The Academia project by Minsait aims to endow new generations with fundamental and advanced cybersecurity skills , bolstering sector growth and nurturing top national talent .

Minsait , an Indra company , has made a significant stride in cybersecurity by training 29 individuals from Nariño , Colombia , through its Academia project .

These trainees , ranging in age , possessing technical backgrounds in systems , electronics and IT have foundational skills in computers and / or networking .
This initiative , a collaboration with Fundatec , welcomed students from this southern region , facilitated by support from the Pasto municipality and NGO Care Colombia .
Recognizing the critical need to safeguard company assets from cyberattacks , the company leveraged its Cybersecurity Operations Center ( SOC ) to guide the inaugural class of the Minsait Academia project in Colombia .
Capitalizing on the SOC ’ s cybersecurity expertise , the 11 most distinguished students have earned positions within the company , tasked with enhancing threat detection and response capabilities – and providing comprehensive technological environment monitoring for partnered organizations .
“ We want to transform social challenges into opportunities , particularly by fostering education in in-demand fields like cybersecurity , which offer immediate and mid-term employment prospects ,” explained Fernando Ayala Ferraro , Director of Indra for the Andean Region , Southern Cone , Central America and the Caribbean .
The trainees will contribute to Indra ’ s cybersecurity solutions through the specialized operations center , delivering surveillance , guidance and consultation to prominent utility companies – addressing nearly 22 % of Colombia ’ s energy needs – and spearheading fraud detection in Chile ’ s financial sector .

Generative Technologies and Cyberspace in the Legislative Agenda – a guide for LATAM legislative institutions in initiatives that seek to regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence and citizen cybersecurity .
The book is presented by the Legislative Institutions Support Section of the Secretariat for the Strengthening of Democracy of the Organization of American States ( OAS ), the MaDrid Capital Fintech Cluster ( MAD Fintech ), the Center for Studies , Research and Parliamentary Foresight of the School of Government of the Universidad Austral and Bussola Tech .
The publication was launched at the Anticipating the Future event held by the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica .
Including in the book are articles of analysis and opinion by legislators , academics , representatives of international organizations , experts in emerging technologies , cybersecurity , digital
law , communication and political science , on the issues that will set the trend in the legislative agenda for 2024 , such as representing the interests of citizens in cyberspace , legislating the digital ecosystem and overseeing the public policies inherent to the technological development in the Americas .
Marc Asturias , Vice President of Marketing and Government at Fortinet for Latin America , the Caribbean and Canada , said : “ Our goal through collaborations like this is for both the public and private sectors to be aware of the risks associated with the digitalization in which we are immersed and to be able to take advantage of its benefits to achieve greater access to technology – while keeping citizens safe in a constantly evolving technological context .”
