Pronatel helps more Peruvians to be digitally connected

“ Thanks to the support of the authorities of the Regional Government of Cajamarca , we are implementing our EPAD initiative in 90 squares or public spaces , which will be a tool for more Peruvians to be digitally connected ,” said Velarde Ortiz , Executive Director of Pronatel .
He added that this experience is expected to be replicated by implementing EPAD near educational institutions , which will additionally benefit students , who will be able to use all the available tools , such as the material available in the repository or virtual library , in addition to browsing the Internet .
Another development is that selected towns of Cajamarca will soon have a Digital Access Center ( CAD ).
“ At the CAD , they will be accompanied by a community digital leader , who will provide the necessary support so that the citizens who attend can develop digital skills that allow their economic and social development ,” said Ortiz .

More than 12,000 citizens of the provinces of Jaén and San Ignacio , in the Cajamarca region of Peru , can connect to high-speed Internet , via Wi-Fi , thanks to the Digital Access Public Spaces ( EPAD ) initiative of the National Telecommunications Program ( Pronatel ).

Pronatel , an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications , continues to reaffirm its commitment to continue accelerating the expansion of coverage , access and use of the Internet , in order to generate more opportunities for all .

Telefónica enters collaboration with Amdocs to provide cloud-enabled digital experiences in Latin America

Amdocs , a leading provider of software and services to communications and media companies , has announced a strategic extension of its collaboration with Telefonica Hispanoamerica .

Under the new multi-year agreement , Amdocs will modernize business support systems ( BSS ) and deploy modules of its cloudnative operational support system ( OSS ) on the public cloud at Telefonica Argentina , Telefonica Chile and Telefonica Peru .
The new cloud-native OSS modules and BSS suite , operated under a managed services arrangement , will enable the three Telefonica entities to reduce costs through increased efficiencies , and drive improved business and operational KPIs , providing Telefonica subscribers in these countries with an enhanced digital customer experience .
Amdocs will also enable Telefonica affiliates to drive business growth , increase time-to-market agility and introduce operational efficiencies by implementing an ongoing Services Delivery Factory .
Based on Amdocs ’ advanced methodologies and new technologies , Telefonica can accelerate automation and continuously integrate in small development and operations cycles .
