He said the collaboration would strengthen infrastructure by providing reliable clean energy for DIRECTV Latin America and SKY Brasil broadcasting data centres while supporting a more resilient energy future across the region.
For data centres, broadcasting facilities and telecommunications networks, uninterrupted electricity can be as valuable as additional computing capacity.
Scaling beyond broadcasting
Although the initial deployment focuses on broadcasting data centres, Terra Innovatum views the project as a gateway to considerably larger opportunities.

Rather than designing a reactor for one specific industry, Terra Innovatum has developed a platform intended for multiple sectors.
Potential applications include cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, financial institutions, hospitals, industrial manufacturing, mining operations, oil and gas facilities and other organisations where uninterrupted electricity is essential.
The modular design also allows installations to expand incrementally as demand grows. Instead of constructing one enormous power station, operators could deploy additional reactor modules over time to match increasing electricity requirements.
That flexibility could prove particularly attractive for rapidly growing digital infrastructure projects whose future energy demands remain uncertain.

According to Terra Innovatum, SOLO has been under development since 2018 and has been engineered over six years by specialists in nuclear safety, licensing and research.
The company says the reactor is built using commercially available components, reducing supply chain complexity while improving manufacturing predictability.
The platform is also designed to accommodate evolving nuclear fuel options, supporting both LEU + and HALEU fuel pathways.
