BigBear. ai and International Shipping Compliance( ISC) have announced the first deployment of an AI-powered cargo security management platform in Panama’ s Dry Canal, following a commercial agreement with Panama Transshipment Group( PTG), the country’ s largest logistics operator.
PTG has begun using the International Shipping Compliance application, developed by BigBear. ai and Narval, to improve supply chain transparency and strengthen cargo security across Panama’ s logistics network.
The platform combines biometrics, advanced analytics and real-time monitoring to provide operators with greater visibility into cargo movements, personnel handling shipments and changes in cargo profiles during transit. The system is designed to help customs and border security agencies identify suspicious activity earlier, reduce contraband risks and improve oversight of containerized cargo flows.
The cargo chain-of-custody application links drivers and transport vehicles directly to containers and security seals through biometric verification, creating an auditable record from origin to destination. A centralized operations platform aggregates real-time fleet and driver data, enabling logistics operators to monitor cargo flows, detect anomalies and generate intelligence to disrupt smuggling and terrorismrelated activity.
Kevin McAleenan, CEO, BigBear. ai, said the deployment in Panama, one of the world’ s most important trade gateways, could support wider regional adoption among logistics operators and international shipping companies. The solution complies with BASC and C-TPAT international security standards.
Panama’ s port and canal infrastructure handles a significant share of global trade, making the country a strategic location for deploying technology aimed at improving cargo accountability, reducing criminal exploitation of supply chains and strengthening cooperation between logistics providers and customs authorities.

NCR Atleos has expanded its Cashzone ATM network into Colombia through a partnership with Bancoomeva, which will act as the sponsoring and settlement bank for the deployment.
The launch is designed to improve nationwide access to cash while supporting financial inclusion and maintaining compliance with local financial and data protection regulations across the Colombian banking sector.
Cash remains central to Colombia’ s economy, accounting for most in-person transactions, particularly for food, transport and household purchases. Despite continued growth in digital payments, many consumers still rely on cash because of its reliability, simplicity and broad acceptance across communities and businesses nationwide.
Cashzone is a global network of independently owned and operated ATMs positioned in high-traffic retail and community locations. Backed by NCR Atleos technology and management services, the network aims to provide secure and dependable self-service banking access for consumers, retailers and financial institutions.
Jimmy Tarazona, Vice President of Global Network Expansion, NCR Atleos, said the expansion strengthens Colombia’ s cash ecosystem while extending the company’ s international network footprint.
Bancoomeva President Dr. Marco Antonio Rizo Cifuentes said the partnership supports the bank’ s commitment to secure and convenient financial services while helping expand reliable access to cash in communities where it remains essential. The Colombia deployment expands Cashzone’ s international presence to 14 countries and marks NCR Atleos’ entry into the Latin American market, supporting wider regional growth plans and future investment opportunities.
