Visa opens the door to AI-driven shopping for businesses worldwide
Visa has unveiled Intelligent Commerce Connect, a new solution designed to make it easier for businesses to connect to and participate in AI-powered commerce.
Intelligent Commerce Connect acts as a network, protocol and token vault-agnostic on-ramp to agentic commerce for agent builders, merchants and enablers. As consumers increasingly rely on AI agents to make purchases, businesses need a simple way to get started, whether they are building agents, selling to them or processing transactions.
The solution, part of the Visa Intelligent Commerce portfolio, enables secure payment initiation, tokenization, spend controls and authentication through a single integration via the Visa Acceptance Platform. It supports both Visa Intelligent Commerce APIs and other payment network APIs, allowing agents to pay with Visa and non-Visa cards, providing greater flexibility across the ecosystem.

Key benefits of Intelligent Commerce Connect include compatibility with major token vault providers, allowing agent platforms to integrate with existing credential infrastructure without vendor lock-in. It also enables seamless acceptance of agent-initiated payments through protocols such as Trusted Agent Protocol, Machine Payments Protocol, Agentic Commerce Protocol and Universal Commerce Protocol.
The platform helps merchants make product catalogs discoverable on AI systems, allowing consumers to search, select and complete purchases within AI-driven environments. It also supports enablers managing transactions on behalf of merchants, with Visa handling orchestration and PCI compliance.
Available through a single integration on the Visa Acceptance Platform, the solution forms part of a modular suite of payment tools used across online, in-app and marketplace transactions. • 46
