HIVE expands AI cloud infrastructure into Paraguay with purpose-built BUZZ platform

HIVE Digital Technologies is expanding into Paraguay through a strategic joint venture with the country’ s leading telecommunications operator to launch one of Paraguay’ s first purpose built artificial intelligence BUZZ Cloud platforms.

The platform will be located in Asunción and hosted in a Tier III data center operated by the telecom partner.
The company said its phased approach mirrors development patterns seen in Texas where energy led Tier I facilities evolved into Tier III data centers supporting enterprise and AI applications.
HIVE believes Paraguay’ s stable governance pro investment policies and strong energy profile create favorable conditions for long term digital infrastructure growth.
The AI cloud is designed to deliver high performance computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure to academic and research institutions enterprises financial services firms and healthcare providers across Paraguay and South America.
Executives said the Asunción launch is an initial step toward expanding local access to accelerated computing while supporting workforce development and regional innovation over time across South America markets globally.
Initial deployment is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026 with an enterprise grade GPU cluster supporting AI training inference and data intensive workloads. Capacity is expected to scale over time based on demand capital availability and infrastructure readiness.
HIVE is leveraging Paraguay’ s renewable hydroelectric power national fiber connectivity and enterprise grade data center operations. The company has operated Tier I data centers and substations in Paraguay using surplus renewable energy.

Hitachi Energy and RT-One partner to power Latin America’ s largest AI data center platform in Brazil

Hitachi Energy is working with RT-One to support development of what the companies describe as Latin America’ s largest artificial intelligence data center platform – reinforcing Brazil’ s ambitions to become a global hub for high-density computing, clean energy and digital sovereignty.

Under the collaboration, Hitachi Energy will contribute advanced high-voltage electrical systems and grid connections designed to deliver energy efficiency, reliability and resilience at scale, requirements considered critical for mission critical digital services such as data centers.
The agreement covers electrification infrastructure for a mega campus planned in Uberlândia, a second campus in Maringá and a third site currently under evaluation. Together, the locations are intended to anchor large scale AI, cloud and high-performance computing capacity in Brazil.
According to the companies, the systems will be engineered for secure network integration, operational flexibility and future expansion while maintaining robustness during peak demand. These capabilities are increasingly important as electricity consumption in Brazil is projected to rise steadily through 2035, driven by industrial electrification, digitalization and mobility.
The initial phase of development includes 100 megawatts of capacity at the Uberlândia campus and up to 200 megawatts at Maringá, with modular expansion planned beyond 400 megawatts per campus.
RT-One said first deliveries are expected in 2026, supporting the growth of AI hubs, cybersecurity services and sovereign cloud infrastructure in the country.
Executives said the partnership combines engineering, supply chain expertise and clean energy know how to accelerate timelines, manage risk and ensure long term operational sustainability. www. intelligentcio. com
