Netcompany selected to deliver next phase of the digital Trader Support Service for GB-NI trade

HMRC has appointed Netcompany to implement and operate the next phase of the Trader Support Service( TSS). The contract has a total potential value of £ 245,186,136 ex-VAT over seven years, with an anticipated value of £ 94 million over the initial fiveyear term. The appointment reflects Netcompany’ s mission of responsible digitalization, working with public sector organizations to deliver Digital Transformation that improves outcomes for citizens and businesses.
With a strong background in digital trade and customs systems, the new TSS digital solution will be built on Netcompany’ s ERMIS customs platform, which already powers the Trader Support Service Portal used by traders. Netcompany’ s AMPLIO platform will also be integrated with ERMIS to provide casework management capabilities, enabling customer support agents to manage more complex trader inquiries.
ERMIS currently supports HMRC’ s transit activities within HMRC Borders and Trade, facilitating more than 2 million trade declarations annually in the UK. Across the European Union, ERMIS processes over 20 million declarations and 150 million transactions each year.
The new TSS digital solution will be user-focused and aligned with GDS service standards to deliver a more intuitive digital journey. This will encourage increased self-service and reduce the administrative burden on businesses, allowing them to focus on trading.

Building on its existing HMRC partnership, Netcompany has been selected to deliver the next phase of the Trader Support Service for businesses trading between Great Britain( GB) and Northern Ireland( NI), supporting the movement of goods in line with the Windsor Framework.

The Windsor Framework, agreed in 2023 between the UK and the EU, revised the Northern Ireland Protocol by reducing customs checks on goods remaining in Northern Ireland while maintaining access to the EU single market.
Our shared focus is to reduce the time, effort and burden on users trading between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Intelligent guidance will be embedded directly into digital user journeys as part of the next phase of the TSS portal, enabling rapid adaptation to evolving GB-NI trade policy. Users will be supported by Agentic AI-powered capabilities to help resolve queries, while maintaining access to trade experts for complex case resolution. A key objective of Netcompany’ s solution is to drive a channel shift toward digital support through improved usability, enhanced online guidance and AI-powered assistance.
Richard Davies, Country Managing Partner UK at Netcompany, said:“ We are proud to have been selected as HMRC’ s strategic partner in the evolution of TSS. Our shared focus is to reduce the time, effort and burden on users trading between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. We value our growing relationship with HMRC and the trader community, and we are committed to making TSS more accessible for everyone using the service while ensuring this contract delivers genuine economic value for Northern Ireland and Great Britain.”
As prime contractor, Netcompany will collaborate with an ecosystem of specialist partners including HGS, McKinsey, the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade, Trade and Borders, clearBorder, 3Sixty Trade, Derry Bros and Digicom. •
