Suzano, Tencent and Ecofuturo Institute partner to advance AI-Powered conservation and nature education

Suzano, the world’ s largest pulp supplier, has signed an MoU with Tencent and the Brazilian non-profit Ecofuturo Institute to advance AI-powered conservation and environmental education.

The partnership will combine Suzano’ s sustainable forestry expertise, Tencent’ s digital innovation and Ecofuturo’ s long-standing leadership in nature education to pilot initiatives in Brazil and China.
A central pilot will deploy advanced species-recognition AI developed by Tencent’ s Sustainable Social Value organization to identify and monitor native species in Neblinas Park and other Ecofuturomanaged areas. Additional initiatives include creating immersive environmental education programs and interactive digital platforms that use innovative technologies to bring people closer to nature.
Malu Paiva, Global Executive Vice President of Sustainability, Communications and Brand, Suzano, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to addressing nature loss through collective action – noting the model could be replicated across the 11,000 square kilometers of conservation areas Suzano protects in the Amazon, Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes.
Xu Hao, Vice President of Tencent Sustainable Social Value, highlighted technology’ s potential to redefine humanity’ s relationship with the natural world. He emphasized that combining Tencent’ s digital tools with on-the-ground expertise from Suzano and Ecofuturo can transform biodiversity innovations into practical conservation solutions and engaging public platforms.
Valeria Blos, Director of Ecofuturo, said the initiative builds on decades of work connecting people to nature. She called the partnership a transformative step that uses technology to inspire generations and strengthen biodiversity protection.

Codelco and NTT DATA partner to accelerate digital transformation of future mining

Joint initiatives will be developed progressively through a cooperation model that promotes knowledge transfer, open innovation and shared value creation. This collaboration combines NTT DATA’ s global technological expertise with Codelco’ s leadership in mining.
Máximo Pacheco, Chairman of Codelco’ s Board of Directors said the future of mining depends on alliances that foster learning and innovation to strengthen Codelco as a pillar of sustainable development in Chile and worldwide.

Codelco and NTT DATA have signed an MoU to establish a strategic alliance that accelerates digital and sustainable transformation in future mining.

The partnership aims to integrate emerging technologies that enhance automation, safety, and sustainability across the operations of the world’ s largest copper producer.
The MoU covers a broad scope, including advanced connectivity and digital infrastructure such as 5G / 6G, photonic and satellite networks, along with generative AI, robotics, quantum computing, autonomous operations and clean technologies.
Miguel Teixeira, CEO Iberia, International Organisations, LATAM and Consulting in Benelux and France at NTT DATA, said the partnership represents an opportunity to merge technological capabilities with one of the world’ s most influential mining companies, driving a new era of innovation and efficiency.
Yutaka Sasaki, President and CEO, NTT DATA, said that improving safety and productivity is essential, noting that NTT DATA will contribute through advanced R & D in generative AI, robotics, digital twins, and quantum computing.
