Exploring the ethical and creative future of museums with AI
The international meeting Artificial Museum? Exploring the Ethical and Creative Future of Museums with AI took place at the Tamayo Museum in Mexico City.
Organized by the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature( INBAL), the Inés Amor International Chair in Cultural Management and Policies, and Universum: Science Museum of UNAM, in collaboration with ICOM Mexico and the Institute of Leadership in Museums and Cultural
Institutions( ILM A. C.), the event brought together professionals from museums, cultural institutions, technology and academia.
Over two days of lectures, dialogues and case studies, participants examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping museum management, preservation, mediation, education and communication. Discussions focused on AI’ s potential to foster inclusion, accessibility and cultural sustainability, while emphasizing the need to preserve human and social values.
The opening day featured presentations by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Javier Pantoja, Horacio Lecona and András Szántó, who explored connections between art, innovation and contemporary thought. Sessions analyzed the creative possibilities of AI and the ethical implications of its integration into cultural institutions.
The second day’ s Critical Dialogues, led by Graciela de la Torre, included contributions from experts from Mexico, Brazil and Spain, who shared practical experiences of applying smart technologies in museums.
The meeting concluded with a call to establish ethical, inclusive and sustainable frameworks for the responsible use of AI, reinforcing collaboration between the cultural, academic and technological sectors.
Marco’ s Pizza targets Latin America growth with NCR Voyix tech partnership
US pizza chain Marco’ s Pizza is accelerating its push into Latin
America, selecting NCR Voyix Corporation as its technology partner to support new store openings in Mexico and across the region.
The agreement marks a key step in Marco’ s international expansion strategy, with its first Mexican location set to open before the end of the year and at least five additional stores planned globally in 2025.
NCR Voyix will deploy its Aloha Essentials platform, providing advanced point-of-sale technology, software, hardware and 24 / 7 support to streamline operations and drive scalability.
