Holambra Agroindustrial Cooperative boosts cyber resilience with SonicWall solutions
Brazilian agribusiness leader Holambra Agroindustrial Cooperative has cut false positives by 35 % and reduced on-site visits by 97 % after deploying SonicWall’ s firewalls and Capture Client, supported by trusted partner Informo.
Brazil’ s Holambra Cooperativa Agroindustrial has outlined the results of deploying advanced cybersecurity solutions from SonicWall.
Headquartered in Paranapanema, São Paulo, Holambra Agroindustrial Cooperative has been a cornerstone of Brazilian agribusiness for decades. Best known for its high-quality soybeans, corn, wheat and beans, it also produces and markets cotton and seasonal fruits. These products are sold to both domestic buyers and international markets that rely on Holambra’ s consistency and quality.
Holambra is more than just a business – it is an economic ecosystem. Founded on cooperative principles, it brings together 170 member companies across the interior of the State of São Paulo. These members range from small family-run farms to large-scale agricultural producers, united by shared infrastructure, expertise and market access.
Between 2000 and 2022, Holambra’ s annual revenue jumped from 0.47 billion reais to 2.9 billion reais. The cooperative’ s operations employ 700 people directly, with another 6,000 professionals interacting indirectly, from logistics providers to seasonal harvest workers. Around 80 % of its commodities are exported to markets such as the US and China – placing it firmly in the global supply chain.
Cybersecurity becomes a strategic necessity
For a cooperative of Holambra’ s size and scope, technology plays a critical role in everything from crop forecasting and inventory management to export compliance and payment processing. But with increasing digitization comes greater exposure to cyberthreats – from ransomware to phishing attacks targeting remote workers.
Recognizing the need to modernize and unify its cybersecurity posture, Holambra turned to SonicWall and its long-standing business partner, Informo.
“ There was a 35 % reduction in false positives,” said Cesar Brito, Technology Manager, Holambra Agroindustrial Cooperative.“ Another gain is that, with the standardization of our security policies across the various layers of SonicWall Firewalls, we were able to reduce technical visits to our sites from 40 per month www. intelligentcio. com INTELLIGENTCIO LATAM 35
