INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGY: DIGITAL PAYMENTS

Paraná public schools enhance Internet connectivity with TP- Link Omada network solution

The first stage of this project covered the entire installation of the network, which was recognized as the largest educational environment in Latin America. Now, in this second phase, the objective was to carry out an upgrade to further improve connectivity in the schools served across the state, which have the support of 65 specialized technicians for network maintenance and monitoring.
The initiative, conducted by the integrator MTEC, aimed to expand the coverage of wired network and Wi-Fi in educational institutions, meeting both the growing demand for connectivity by students and teachers and the technical requirements of the digital educational platforms adopted by the state network.
With more than 2,000 school units served, the state public network expands investments to ensure connected, stable and inclusive education throughout Brazil’ s Paraná state.
“ Today, the quality of the Internet is a key part of the pedagogical process. Our teachers use various software and virtual learning environments and students access content in real time. It was essential to ensure an even more robust connection with good performance in all schools,” said Waltrick.

The quality of education in the state of Paraná, already nationally recognized for the best performance in high school according to the Ideb( Basic Education Development Index), has just taken another important step toward innovation.

In a large-scale project led by the Paraná State Department of Education( SEED-PR), more than 2,000 state public schools now have a robust, intelligent and manageable network infrastructure, thanks to the implementation of switches – devices that allow the interconnection of various equipment in a local network.
The project, carried out in two phases, involves the Omada platform by TP-Link, a B2B brand of the global manufacturer of smart grids specializing in corporate solutions with centralized cloud management.
“ At SEED-PR, we saw that this platform was ideal to offer robust, scalable and simple-to-operate management – a model that will allow the customer to grow safely and efficiently,” said Paulo Cesar Waltrick, Coordinator of Infrastructure and Equipment, SEED-PR.
With the acquisition of SG3428MP managed switches, state schools have transformed the way they manage and distribute connectivity.
The equipment powers access points via PoE( Power over Ethernet), a technology that transmits power and data through a single network cable, facilitating the expansion of the Wi-Fi network while providing more stability, speed and control in wired connections.
Before the implementation of the two phases of the project, schools faced several challenges related to equipment management.
“ We are currently able to monitor, control access and avoid problems such as network loops, in addition to gaining greater speed and drastically reducing the number of technical calls due to network unavailability,” said Waltrick.
The choice of solutions from the Omada corporate line also offered a competitive cost-benefit ratio – essential for large-scale projects in the public sector. p
