Brazilian consultancy SQUADRA has launched Genius – a multipurpose AI-powered platform developed to accelerate legacy system modernization and digital solution delivery.

Developed to optimize workflow and accelerate the development cycle of digital platforms and solutions, Genius is the result of a US $ 3.6 million( BRL 20 million) investment supported by BNDES.

Genius delivers a structured, integrated and secure approach focused on generating value for the core of clients’ businesses across industries including finance, telecommunications, utilities and logistics. Combining advanced technology with human expertise, Genius provides a collaborative and intelligent environment that enables SQUADRA experts to transform complexity into simplicity.

The platform can manage multiple projects simultaneously and integrate user profiles to create a conversational digital environment that accelerates digital ecosystem improvements.

Genius powers SQUADRA’ s Legacy Modernization by Genius initiative using intelligent tools to extract value from legacy applications, document the systems’ implicit knowledge and reintegrate it into modern applications.

“ Many companies today were born in the digital world, but most still live under the pressure of legacy and avoid touching these assets for fear of operational failures, which also prevents innovation,” said Romulo Cioffi, Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and Operations, SQUADRA.

According to Cioffi, the decision to initially apply Genius to legacy modernization was based on the criticality and complexity of these systems.“ We are offering a safe and efficient way to modernize technology, which sustains the growth of corporations, updating technologies, reorganising the structure of applications and keeping business rules preserved with a gain of up to 40 % in productivity compared to traditional modernization methods,” he said.

Through a structured semantic analysis process, Legacy Modernization by Genius maps entire legacy ecosystems, identifies areas for improvement and delivers solutions aligned with business needs. This approach enhances accuracy in decision-making, reduces errors and increases the quality of outcomes. Each project generates updated digital information that serves as a foundation for future developments, transforming systemic knowledge into reusable assets while maintaining business logic and keeping data internal, updated, governed and secure.

The platform features a network of specialized intelligent tools that accelerate migration to modern environments and applications. Key capabilities include automated code analysis to identify obsolete code, business rule extraction to recover critical operational knowledge, automated test generation to ensure operational integrity and code refactoring to simplify complex code without altering its function.
