inDrive launches inDrive. Money in Peru to boost financial inclusion for gig economy workers
inDrive has expanded its financial services arm with the launch of inDrive. Money in Peru, offering cash loans to drivers and couriers through its ride-hailing app as part of its broader push into multi-service mobility.
inDrive, a mobility and urban services platform operating in 888 cities across 48 countries, has launched inDrive. Money in Peru. This marks the service’ s fourth market of operation and aims to drive greater financial inclusion for gig economy workers, including drivers and couriers.
Gig economy workers often struggle to access traditional lending due to a lack of credit histories or payslips.
To address this, inDrive now offers app-based credit via its platform, which is the world’ s second-most downloaded ride-hailing app.
In LATAM, inDrive. Money now operates in Mexico, Colombia and Peru – where it is partnered with
R2, a Latin American fintech specializing in financing for small and medium-sized businesses. Since its launch, inDrive. Money has issued over 100,000 loans, with lending volume growing rapidly to meet strong demand.
This expansion is part of inDrive’ s broader strategy to transform into a multi-service platform beyond ridehailing. inDrive. Money supports revenue diversification while improving driver loyalty and retention. It also contributes to higher Gross Merchandise Value( GMV), which reflects the total value of rides and deliveries before deductions.
