environmental and technological advantages compared to similar initiatives elsewhere. De Gregorio emphasized the need to focus on growth and economic activity to drive regional development, noting,“ When an economy doesn’ t grow sufficiently, it limits itself to distributing existing resources instead of generating new wealth that benefits all stakeholders.”
The 17th Entel Business Tour took place at the Mitrinco Events Center. In its 2025 edition, it brought together dozens of clients under the theme‘ Connectivity in a Challenging Geoeconomic Landscape’.
The event brought together Entel’ s most important business leaders and clients in the region.
“ This tour has been running for 17 years, including this year’ s edition, and has taken place in different cities across the country. It’ s a valuable opportunity for us; it allows us to meet most of our clients in person, listen to them and understand firsthand their needs and concerns regarding the growth, efficiency and digitalization of their businesses,” said Miguel Vargas, Sales and Services Manager for the Enterprise Market at Entel.

Along these lines, the economist underscored the importance of simplifying processes and supporting initiatives that foster economic progress, highlighting that Chile is resilient but faces significant challenges in achieving sustained growth that can create more opportunities for all.
Vargas said:“ The most important thing for the Biobío region, especially in the SME world, is how companies develop technologically and address Digital Transformation. Another key issue for driving technological and economic development in the region is connectivity infrastructure. Regarding this point, Entel’ s Market and Corporate Products Manager, Alfonso Fernández, addressed the specific challenges facing Biobío due to its geography and industrial distribution.
In response, he stated,“ We recognize that, while Concepción has good connectivity, much of the Biobío region faces significant challenges in this area. Therefore, through our partnership with Starlink, we offer satellite solutions that provide stable connectivity for businesses in remote areas. This technology is especially valuable for the region’ s forestry and fishing sectors, ensuring their operational continuity and emergency response capacity, even in the most isolated locations.” p
