CASE STUDY comply with the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data( LGPD).
The project developed at AFIP with Qlik’ s data integration, data quality and analytics platform has a partnership with Grupo Inteligência de Negócios( IN), Qlik’ s master reseller in Brazil. and improvement of its strategic people management panel, in a project that involves the data committee and the people management and culture area of AFIP.
One of the main challenges faced by the organization was to organize cash flow with the payment of overtime and the management of the employees’ bank of hours.
“ AFIP is on a journey towards an increasingly datadriven approach, aligned with emerging trends in advanced analytics for a highly innovative future with greater efficiency and productivity in the organization,” said Priscilla Neves, Director of People Management & Culture, AFIP.
According to Neves, AFIP is in a new phase to further boost the responsible use of data and bring significant benefits to employees and patients.
The company relied on isolated time and overtime bank data. Considering the criticality of the work and specialized labor required at AFIP, which works with diagnostic medicine, teaching activities, scientific research and health care to the community, with an emphasis on public service, it was important to have a platform that allowed the correlation of this information, including to analyze the availability of the team and whether there were employees with a negative balance and receiving overtime, for instance.
“ We even created a data committee to develop initiatives effectively, with professionals from different areas of AFIP. Thus, we want to promote a collaborative environment of data literacy by addressing the needs of the company in a multidisciplinary way.
“ With this, we are already carrying out actions focused on several fronts, including People Data Analytics, for example, with processes with empathy and active listening to the opinions of employees in relation to what the data is demonstrating about our operations. Thus, we promote a culture focused on people to integrate humanized perceptions into the data and facilitate the identification of possible inconsistencies,” she said.
Among the actions in progress and as part of the institution’ s digital transformation, is the development
From this scenario, a project was put into practice to decentralize data and streamline business solutions, which integrated the information on the bank of hours and overtime payments in a single panel, based on the Qlik platform, using storytelling concepts in graphs, indicators and filters so that users could have an elevated experience, intuitive and dynamic use.
The platform is automatically updated with information from AFIP’ s HR applications and separates employees into some groups based on their time bank status.
Based on the analyses carried out from structured and correlated information, AFIP is able to more proactively determine schedules at the most favorable times, increasing the compensation of the bank of hours more efficiently so that overtime remains balanced, also enabling the optimization of cash flow.

WE WANT TO PROMOTE A COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT OF DATA LITERACY BY ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF THE COMPANY IN A MULTIDISCIPLINARY WAY.

As a result, there was a 50 % reduction in the amount of overtime in a representative group.
About 200 managers already use the implemented analytics platform. The dashboard created ensures data security, and managers can view only macro and analytical information from their team’ s employees, promoting the organization’ s transparency with employees and compliance with the LGPD. Other employees can also view the data in an anonymized manner, creating a data-driven culture in the organization.
“ The dashboard is easy to view and manage and can be configured according to other needs of the organization,” says Olimpio Pereira, Country Manager, Qlik Brazil.
