The number of mobile connections in the Peruvian market continues to grow , according to an infographic from 5G Americas compiled with data from DN Consultores .

Regarding average mobile traffic per connection , it has increased from four gigabytes ( GB ) per month in 2019 to 10 GB per month in 2022 , a slightly smaller growth compared to the total traffic . This is explained , on one hand , by the higher average consumption per line and , on the other hand , by the increase in mobile lines with internet – which has raised the total demand for traffic . p
According to the research , by the end of 2022 there were 29 million mobile lines with internet in Peru , representing an 87 % penetration in the country ’ s total population .
This represents an addition of 2.4 million lines ( an increase of about 9 %) and a 7 % growth in penetration compared to the total population when compared to the previous year . As a result , Peru ranks fourth in mobile penetration in South America , behind Chile ( 115 %), Brazil ( 103 %) and Uruguay ( 102 %) and above the regional average ( 83 %).
