LeoLabs , the world ’ s leading commercial provider of Space Situational Awareness ( SSA ) services and Low Earth Orbit ( LEO ) mapping , has announced Argentina as the site for its next space radar . The Argentina Space Radar ( AGSR ) represents a critical addition to LeoLabs growing global constellation of S-band , phased-array sensors strategically distributed across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres , as well as the polar and equatorial regions . The AGSR site is located on the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego , just under 5,000 km from Antarctica . This site was chosen primarily for its high latitude , which is especially beneficial for monitoring high-risk conjunctions which typically occur above 60 degrees latitude .
COLGAS , Esenttia , MR Ingenieros SAS , Tenaris and KPMG are part of the Innovation Center of Cartagena , which will be promoting topics such as energy transition , innovation and research around more efficient energies . This center is operated and managed by the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena , while Ecopetrol invested around nine billion Colombian pesos for its adaptation and equipment . This important center is located in the Hub Caribe Building and has a technopark with 5.0 technology laboratories , biotechnology , nanotechnology , engineering , design , electronics and telecommunications . In this way , the Econova Innovation Center becomes the first of its kind in Latin America and will connect the actors of the triple helix ( academia , industry and government ), with the purpose of responding to current global needs regarding the use of new sources of renewable energy .

The innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank ( BID Lab ) and Meta has announced the 10 communities that were selected in the Metaverse Communities Call . The initiative was launched with the objective of better understanding how communities are being built in the metaverse , as well as contributing to the social and economic development of vulnerable populations in Latin America and the Caribbean . Among the selected is the Gran Chaco Impact NFT from Bolivia , which offers a space for collectors to join forces with artists and curators to help women artisans turn native art pieces into digital tokens , with the goal of preserving and promoting the culture of their communities .
The President of El Salvador , Nayib Bukele , announced that he will send to Congress a bill that eliminates taxes on activities related to technological innovations . “ This bill aims to eliminate all taxes ( income , property , capital gains and import tariffs ) on technological innovations , such as software programming , coding , apps and AI development , as well as manufacturing of computing and communication hardware ,” said the President . Bukele is known for being a Bitcoin enthusiast . He made the cryptocurrency legal tender in El Salvador in September 2021 , making the country the first to do so , followed in 2022 by the Central African Republic .
