COMNET and SES extend network services across Central America via SES-17 Satellite

SES and COMNET announced that they have extended their long-term partnership to jointly deliver high-performance , nextgeneration broadband services to enable applications supporting agriculture , trade , tourism , energy , financial , health and education sectors across Central America .

The Guatemalan service provider will leverage SES-17 Ka-band satellite capacity and SES ’ s managed services to offer a new QUANTTUM Ka enterprise solution , an extension to COMNET ’ s QUANTTUM portfolio of broadband services . In the last 15 years , COMNET has been leveraging SES ’ s extensive satellite fleet and managed services in C- , Ku- and now Ka-band to provide reliable connectivity services to underserved areas in the isthmus .
Powered by SES ’ s first high-throughput geostationary ( GEO ) satellite operating in Ka-band , COMNET ’ s QUANTTUM Ka solution will provide high-quality , reliable and fast Internet connectivity services to help accelerate digital access in the region , especially as countries continue to adapt and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic .
The solution will enable telemedicine , remote education and Internet of Things ( IoT ) applications while supporting Business Continuity with redundancy services to help mitigate the impact of natural disasters in a region prone to climate and geological events .

TOTVS launches new availability zones for its cloud in Brazil

TOTVS , the largest technology company in Brazil that offers solutions to increase business productivity , announced the expansion of the TOTVS cloud availability zones .

The investment aims to accelerate the cloudification of its base of more than 40,000 customers in the national territory . the company intends to continue the expansion process in new locations this year .
Gustavo Bastos , Vice President of Platforms , TOTVS , said : “ These investments expand the presence of a quality cloud service for our customers , regardless of the region they are in .”
With the development , TOTVS customers will have access to their cloud solutions with more ease and performance optimization , regardless of their location in Brazil . The result is a more agile user experience and greater data availability .
The new zones are designed based on sustainable practices , with 14001A certification , which is based on the international standard defined by the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO ), which establishes the requirements for the correct implementation and operation of a sustainable environmental management system , promoting the safe use of renewable energy .
